We wanted to know why Sean switched to using SALONGENIUS and see how SALONGENIUS has helped his business since taking it on!

Why did you decide to change from paper managing your salon to a computerised system?

"We needed to have much more control. We needed to automate payroll, we needed instant financial reports and most importantly we needed efficient marketing support".

Why did you decide to go with SALONGENIUS?

"It’s funny, pretty much all the systems on the market claim to do the same stuff, but we have tested loads of them and worked with many. In reality we don’t just need a system that does this stuff, but that does it simply, easily and intuitively; otherwise if it is too awkward, cumbersome or complicated, you are left with a system that just sits there doing nothing. For us, SALONGENIUS ticked all of the boxes of things that were important to us. Easy to access meaningful reports and easy to use but totally effective marketing tools".

What are the main benefits of this system?

"It’s marketing capabilities are tremendous, it keeps a tight control on all aspects of running my business - staff, stock, clients etc... it’s easy for all my staff to use and the aftercare service we receive from SALONGENIUS is second to none!".

What are your favourite aspects of the system?

"As I write this I am working in the States, and have amazing access to my SALONGENIUS system for all my salons via the internet. It’s awesome! But in reality the element that really makes the system a great investment for us is it’s marketing capability".

How has your business improved since using SALONGENIUS?

Our marketing is in a different league now; we have superb automated marketing via text messages, emails and letters; we have online bookings; we have improved team performance tracking. Although hairdressing hasn’t actually changed a great deal over the years - we still use scissors and comb, blow dryers and brushes etc.... the way our clients choose to interact with businesses has changed immeasurably. A client moving to a new area is as likely to google a hair salon and check out their website, their prices, and any useful info before even engaging the salon via a phone call. Clients are much more immune to conventional advertising and more responsive to personal contact. If we are to compete at the top level we need to be able to tune into this and the tools we need at our disposal have to be in line with current market expectations. A supportive computer system is no longer a ‘techie’ luxury but a vital component of how we do business.
